GOLF DIGEST NAMES THE RITZ-CARLTON LODGE, REYNOLDS PLANTATION
A TOP GOLF RESORT IN AMERICA
GREENSBORO, GA – The Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation has once again been recognized as one of the "75 Best Golf Resorts in North America" in the October issue of Golf Digest. Ranked No. 13 on the list of top golf getaways, this is the third time The Lodge has been recognized by what is considered one of the most prestigious and definitive rankings in golf.
The resort - situated on the shores of Lake Oconee, near Greensboro – offers guests 99 holes of golf designed by four of the game's best-known architects, Rees Jones, Jack Nicklaus, Tom Fazio and Bob Cupp. With five signature, world-class courses, Top 100 Instructor Charlie King available for a lesson at the Reynolds Golf Academy, and the Kingdom where the MATT (Motion Analysis Technology by TaylorMade) System is available for club-fitting and where PGA professionals hone their games, The Lodge respectfully boasts a remarkable caliber of golf.
The list of top golf resorts was created with the help of Golf Digest's 900-plus course-rating panelists, who also produce their biennial ranking of America's 100 Greatest Courses explains Peter Finch, Special Projects Senior Editor, Golf Digest. “They rated hundreds of U.S., Canadian, Mexican and Caribbean golf resorts on a scale of 1 ("awful") to 10 ("perfect"). We averaged their ratings and multiplied the result by 10 to come up with a score for each.” The Lodge received a healthy score of 80 and moved from its ranking of its previous spot at 20 to 13 this year.
“…All the resorts on our list deliver a fine combination of golf, lodging, food and service,” continues Mr. Finch. The resort’s golf packages present an attractive means to experience The Lodge’s unique mix of these elements.
The resort’s most popular golf package, Fairways & Greens, includes overnight accommodations; a complete American Breakfast in the restaurant, or served in-room; and 18-holes of golf daily, including a golf cart, club storage, use of practice facility and additional rounds available on the same course, same day at a reduced rate. Rates for Fairways and Greens start at $299 USD per night per room with one golfer and $429 USD per night for two golfers sharing a guestroom.
In addition to two night’s accommodations in Five Diamond surroundings, Sticks and Stones features two rounds of golf and two luxurious spa treatments to mix and match; so discerning couples can choose between putting and pampering - or both - individually or together. This package starts at $399 USD per night on weekdays and $499 USD per night on weekends with a two night minimum.
And golf-loving guests will appreciate the value of the Unbelievable Golf package. Starting at $250 USD per night for one golfer and $350 USD per night for two golfers sharing a room, Unbelievable Golf includes overnight accommodations and one day of unlimited golf -- day of arrival or day of departure -- on choice of a course. Also included is unlimited use of golf cart access to the practice facilities which include grass hitting areas, as well as putting and chipping greens. Each of The Lodge’s golf packages includes the choice of play on The National, The Plantation or The Landing courses. The Oconee course is available for an upgrade surcharge of $75 USD which includes forecaddie fee but not caddie gratuity.
“Family Golf in the Afternoon” allows children under the age of 18 to play free with an accompanying, paying adult at The Oconee golf course with children’s score cards, complimentary kids’ clubs usage, and their very own tee boxes and accompanying tee box cart path markers.
