|FLORIDA'S HISTORIC GOLF TRAIL
GoGolfandTravel.com is proud to present Florida’s Historic Golf Trail. This golf trail is recognized as one of the oldest in the nation. As railroads and hotels developed in the Sunshine State, so did golf courses.
Most of these courses are reviewed by GoGolfandTravel.com contributing writer, Mike May who lives in the West Palm Beach area. We hope to eventually review all 54 courses. If you want to get a taste of all the courses and learn more about this intriguing golf trail, CLICK HERE to visit the website.
Some of the courses on the Florida Historic Golf Trail have retained much of their historic character, while others have been modified through the years. However, at each of these sites, golf has been played for more than a half century.
The Florida Historic Golf Trail is a program of the Florida Department of State, Division of Historical Resources. The program is designed to enhance public awareness of Florida’s historic golf courses and increase an appreciation for historic preservation and Florida history.
