The18-hole championship course stretches 6,800 yards and features rolling fairways, eight acres of lakes and 76 sand bunkers

Built in 1957 and redesigned in 2000 by acclaimed architect Joe Lee, the 18-hole championship course stretches 6,800 yards and features rolling fairways, eight acres of lakes and 76 sand bunkers, combining for a 72.9/slope 136 course rating from the Blue tees. Course ratings for the remaining tees are: Gold, 71.3/slope 129; White 69.8/slope 127; and Red 71.4/slope 119. Yardage from the Gold is 6, 393, White- 6,107 and Red 5,354.

The championship course is managed by internationally renowned Troon Golf® and includes use of golf carts enhanced with GPS. The GPS tells the player how far they drove the ball and how far from the flag they are. It even offers tips on the best way to take the shot and which clubs to use.  

Golfers already feel like they are in paradise with the lush landscape and wildlife onlookers such as parrots, iguanas and Mallard ducks, but impeccable service from The Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa takes it up a notch further. All golfers receive driving range privileges, a cart, and discounted parking with their paid green fee. Food can even be ordered from a computer on the cart and served at the hole. Four PGA pros are available for private lessons as well as any tips players may be seeking to improve their game. 

After an invigorating day of golf, players can relax and unwind with casual dining overlooking the course at The Links Restaurant & Lounge. 

In-season course rates: (Oct. 1 – April 30) rates for hotel guests are $189 and $89 out of season (May 1 – Sept 30). Florida residents receive a discount and pay $139 for in season and $89 out of season. After 3 p.m., twilight golf play is offered for $59. Golf lessons are $100 per hour or $50 for a half hour.
