Ed Stone

With over 40 years of experience in the travel industry, Stone has a wealth of knowledge and experience in travel and hospitality marketing. He has held director and vice president positions with Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia and Opryland USA in Nashville, Tennessee. For thirteen years he owned his own Marketing & Communications Agency, Stone & Associates in Hendersonville, Tennessee with major regional and national accounts.
Ed has major accomplishments in the areas of marketing, research and development planning, advertising, public relations, publicity, sales, television and event production. While vice president of marketing at the Opryland USA complex, he was the executive producer for several major television specials on NBC, ABC, CBS, TNN as well as working on many syndicated television specials.
He is a graduate of the University of Georgia’s Henry W. Grady School of Journalism with a B.S. degree. Ed is a member of the Society of American Travel Writers (SATW) where he has been honored with Marco Polo status (the highest honored SATW can bestow upon an Associate member) and a trustee for the SATW Foundation.
Ed is an accomplished photographer and an avid golfer. He lives in Tennessee in the summer and Florida in the winter.
His is the recipient of a coveted "SATW Bill Muster Photo Award" and the Central States Chapter of SATW has awarded Ed with over a dozen prize-winning photography awards in the areas of scenic, people and overall.

Bill Hensley

Bill is a veteran travel and golf writer based in Charlotte, N.C. He has been named to the North Carolina Journalism Hall of Fame and the Carolinas Golf Hall of Fame. He has long been a member of the Society of American Travel Writers (SATW) and has been honored with Marco Polo status.

Cindy Janssens
Golf & Travel Writer
Cindy is a former newspaper writer and editor turned freelance writer. She is the former travel editor and Sunday magazine editor of The Detroit News. In addition, she has worked for newspapers in California, Georgia, New York and Pennsylvania. She is a graduate of Ohio University.
She has been active for many years in the Society of American Travel Writers (SATW) and was national president of the 1,200-member professional organization in 1998. Cindy began combining golf with her travel writing about five years ago, when she and her husband relocated to Northwest Michigan, one of America’s finest golfing areas. She couldn’t resist the lure of the links and began playing regularly…then decided to combine her golfing with her writing. In 2002, she wrote the Midwest section of “Fairways: America’s Greatest Golf Resorts.”
Cindy and her husband Chet now spend their winters in southwest Florida, living in a golf community near Naples. In addition to writing about golf in Michigan and Florida, Janssens travels extensively and reports on resorts and courses all over the world. Fran Stone

Fran Stone has been an integral part of Go Golf and Travel since its inception. Her responsibilities include research, editing, writing and coordinating travel schedules.
Fran has a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida Southern College and has completed graduate computer training courses and seminars in financial planning, management and marketing.
She is an avid golfer and enjoys traveling with Ed, taking notes and gathering research information.

Chet Janssens

After a successful career in the marine industry where he was president of Crusader Engines for 25 years, Chet retired and took up traveling, accompanying his wife Cindy on trips all over the world.
Long a dedicated golfer and photographer, Chet figured out early on that shooting pictures to accompany Cindy’s story was smart business. He now sells his photographs to a number of magazines and websites.

An earlier career devoted to academia and experiential travel study initiated a life long pursuit of exploring people and their cultures, habitats and ecosystems, flora and fauna, environment, lifestyles, avocations and vocations. Communicating his observations and experiences has evolved to its present day style as writer of stories and articles in a variety of publications.
Bill's freelance travel, golf and lifestyle writing has appeared in Garden State Golf, New York Golf, Commonwealth Golf and New Hampshire Golf magazines; as Consulting and Contributing Editor in GolfStyles magazine; as contributing writer to cigaraficionado.com, Drinking & Dining column and; contributing writer to Golf Today and Sustainable Land Development.
His first book, an award winning non-fiction trade publication, Into Winter-Discovering A Season was published just after graduate school. He is a member of the Metropolitan Golf Writers Association, Golf Writers Association of America, and International Network of Golf
Bill is former publisher and editorial director of Divot's upscale regional golf lifestyle publications. He worked with the New York Times, Gruner & Jhar, and Miller Freeman magazine divisions in New York City; edited Northeast Sun, a solar and alternative energy magazine; taught natural history, ornithology, environmental studies, and science education at New England College and Antioch New England Graduate School; developed and taught field studies- Canoeing Natural History of the Florida Everglades, Birds of Texas and Mexico, The American Southwest/Nature and Culture, Ecological Sailing Study- Florida Keys to Central America, and Fauna of Gaspe' Peninsula & Maritimes.
Bill earned a B.A. from Glassboro College and Environmental Studies M.S. from Antioch New England Graduate School.
He resides in southern Vermont with his wife Flo and golden retriever, Oscar Bogie. Bill delights in playing golf, fly fishing, mountain sunrises, ocean sunsets and moonlit star filled nights.

Ray Chatelin

Ray has never seen a golf course he didn’t like, whether it’s a high end resort course, a PGA Tour event layout, a muni, or one carved from a sheep meadow. A member of the Society of American Travel Writers and the Golf Writers Association of America, he works with his photographer/wife, Toshi, and has been published in numerous travel and golf publications. He and Toshi recently teamed on producing The Seattle and Vancouver Guide, the 14th guide Ray has either authored or co-authored.

Toshi Chatelin

Toshi is a member of the Society of American Travel Writers and works as a freelance photographer. Her work has been published in a variety of newspapers, magazines and books, the latest of which is the Seattle and Vancouver Guide.
She began photographing golf courses in the 1980s on one of her trips to New Zealand. She works with her writer husband and fellow golfer, Ray. Living in British Columbia, Canada, she and Ray travel around the world for work and play. She loves coming across hidden golf gems that aren’t highly publicized or photographed.
